Overview of the Role:


Under the direction of the Director of Revenue Cycle Management, ​ the Accounts Receivable (AR) Manager is responsible for complete, accurate and timely processing of all designated claims, reviewing and responding to daily correspondence from physician practices in a timely manner, answering incoming telephone calls and providing information as requested or properly authorized. We look for strong follow up skills, attention to detail, a solutions focused mindset, and a driving work ethic. This position works collaboratively with the staff in our physician practices as well as team members at Privia Headquarters. This position will also be responsible for providing remote and in-person education to physicians and non-physician practitioners to help reduce lab claim denials and to promote proper ordering, billing, and documentation best practices

Primary Job Duties:


  • Charge posting, claim follow up, collections, and payment posting
  • Work directly with physicians and practice administrators on a daily basis to ensure optimal revenue cycle functionality
  • Understand and work with the revenue cycle from point of scheduling to processing of claims.  
  • Manage revenue specialists and care center billers to monthly metrics
  • Responsible for resolving all Holds, Manager Holds, and Patient Holds


Minimum Qualifications:


  • High School Graduate, Medical Office training certificate or relevant experience
  • CPC preferred, but not required
  • 3+ years experience in a medical billing office.
  • Strong preference for experience working with Athena Health’s suite of tools 
  • Must comply with HIPAA rules and regulations 
  • Working knowledge of Industry rules/regulations, such as the False Claims Act, as well as proper claims submission, coding rules, and billing knowledge for government payers, commercial payers, and patient billing
